NikkieTutorials says: Peeling your face at home after summer

In this blog, NikkieTutorials will explain precisely what a peel is. Why a peel is essential after summer. There are different types of peels, and how you can do a facial peel at home yourself. So after this article, you'll know all about peeling!

Peeling your face

As you know, taking care of my skin is one of the essential parts of my daily routine. My skin is exposed to all kinds of agents and makeup daily, so I must take extra good care of my facial skin.

In this article, I will explain what peeling is and why a peel is necessary after summer. There are different types of peels, and how you can do a facial peel yourself at home. So after this article, you will know all about peeling!

What is peeling?

As you undoubtedly know, your skin has multiple layers. Your skin automatically produces new skin cells over the years. With peeling, you remove the top layer of your skin so that a new layer can automatically develop. But what is the point of removing the top layer of your skin, you are probably wondering? I'll tell you: over time, the top layer of your skin develops dead skin cells, wrinkles, or spots from the sun. This is not necessarily dangerous, of course, but aesthetically it does not look very nice. With peeling, you remove this top layer so that a new healthy layer of skin can be created. So your skin then looks a lot fresher. You can also do facial peeling at home.

It is essential to perform facial peeling at home after the summer. This is because your skin mustn't be overexposed to the sun when peeling. After the summer months, there will be less sunlight, so peeling is very suitable. Another reason to start peeling after the sun is precise: your skin has a lot to endure in the summer. You can then suffer more from clogged pores, pigmentation spots, etc.

Different types of peeling

So, as I mentioned in the introduction, there are different forms of peeling that you can apply. First of all, you have a chemical way of peeling. Using a chemical substance on your skin causes the skin cells to die out. You can do a chemical peel at home, but I recommend having it done by a professional beautician. The advantage of an aesthetician is that they often know what substances you need. The advantage of chemical peeling is that the result is comprehensive. The disadvantage is that your skin can become red due to chemicals. However, this only lasts for a few days and then passes.

Then there is mechanical peeling. The advantage of this is that no chemicals are used. Instead, an abrasive device is used. The advantage of this is that you do not get red skin, as is the case with chemical peeling. However, the disadvantage is that this treatment is generally more expensive. So if you have a small budget, this treatment is not recommended!

Peeling your face at home

Peeling your face at home is, as a rule, a lot cheaper than having it done. The advantage of peeling your look at home is that you can easily buy the products. Would you like to perform a facial peeling at home? Then it is essential to purchasing a so-called exfoliating gel. Which exfoliating gel you need depends, on the one hand, on your skin. You can inquire about this, but it is often indicated on the packaging. Exfoliating your face at home is, therefore, a snap. When exfoliating your look at home, there is also the possibility of using granule peeling. You can then test which one suits you best.

I would suggest you first ask which peeling is good for your skin and then purchase the right product for a safe and effective peeling at home. Your facial skin is one of the most sensitive pieces of your body, so take good care!
