Anti Aging Creams

Anti-aging creams unfortunately cannot prevent the skin from aging, but can help make the outward signs of skin aging less visible.

Why an anti-aging cream?

Skin aging (anti-aging) is something we all have to deal with sooner or later. We cannot prevent skin aging, but we can slow down the skin aging process, creating an anti-aging effect, as it were.

After you turn 25, the cell activity in your skin decreases. Your skin produces less collagen and elastin. These are proteins that give the skin firmness and resilience. Around age 80, this process is entirely over, and your skin does not produce collagen and elastin. At that point, your skin will only become slack and get more wrinkles.

With specific peptides, creams, and fruit acids in skin care, you can trigger your skin to produce more collagen. In addition to the degradation and reduced production of collagen and elastin, from age 35, the skin will have difficulty retaining moisture and may develop dry lines. It is essential to slow down skin aging by using anti-aging products.

When which anti-aging ingredients?

Between 25 and 35 years of age, it is wise to start anti-aging and use products with hyaluronic acid and start with glycolic acid or retinol (vitamin A). Hyaluronic acid binds the skin up to 1000x its weight in moisture—a real thirst quencher for the skin that prevents (the first) dry lines. Glycolic acid and Retinol exfoliate and stimulate cell renewal, keeping the skin active and producing collagen and elastin.

Besides these ingredients, Vitamin C is also recommended: this potent antioxidant prevents glycation and oxidation in the skin by free radicals. These are processes that affect connective tissue and cause skin sagging and wrinkles. In addition, Vitamin C is a natural complexion enhancer that prevents pigmentation.

In the phase after age 35, it is essential to fill in deficits in collagen and elastin levels using active peptides. Peptides are building blocks of proteins such as collagen and elastin that stimulate the skin to produce more collagen and elastin. Peptides can penetrate the outer layer of the skin and reach the layers of skin where they have the most effect. So if you're looking for products that make skin look young and firm, add peptides to your skincare routine.
