Time for Retinol
Entering autumn signals the start of Retinol use.
Retinol, also known as vitamin A, is the ingredient for reducing (signs of) skin aging, hyperpigmentation and acne. This is because it stimulates skin cell renewal, removing dead skin cells and creating new smooth skin. Retinol also protects against free radicals (for example, from air pollution) and stimulates collagen production. The latter is exactly what your skin needs for a youthful look.
Why is retinol good for the skin?
Skin aging occurs for a number of reasons. Either natural aging or other reasons such as environmental factors or stress. As skin ages, cell renewal and collagen production slow down. This causes visible signs of skin aging such as spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol accelerates delayed cell renewal, making it the ingredient of choice for treating the visible signs of premature skin aging.
Retinol and UV rays
Retinol makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight when it is overexposed to it. Therefore, be very careful when using retinol in the summer. Rather avoid retinol in the summer & protect your skin all year round with a day cream with SPF. Our advice: use retinol in autumn and winter to treat sun damage that has built up. So time for retinol.
